Each product is stamped with a Best Used By date on the package or label. We recommend enjoying Vermont Smoke & Cure® products before that date for the best flavor and quality.
Yes. All of our products are free from major food allergens, including milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame. Our validated cleaning process prevents any cross-contamination between runs.
We don’t add synthetic nitrates or nitrites. The only ones present occur naturally from celery juice powder and sea salt, giving the same preservation and flavor benefits, naturally.
“Uncured” is a USDA term, but it’s a bit misleading. Our products use natural nitrate sources like celery juice and sea salt instead of sodium nitrite — so they’re naturally cured with the same great flavor.
All our sticks use a beef collagen casing. Our Summer Sausage has a dark, peelable fibrous casing — safe if accidentally eaten, but best removed before enjoying.
Unopened sticks can be stored at room temperature until the Best Used By date. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within a few days for the best taste and texture.
